Children’s Yoga- YJNP Students

Edith uses stories, music and games to engage children in yoga. For children, the experience of being in their body, using their imagination, and learning relaxation skills can be invaluable. We have fun, most importantly, and learn tools like taking turns, sharing, listening, and we build confidence in the process.

From games such as “Yogi says”, to imaginary safari’s to making up our own poses and playing freeze dance to yoga poses- children are engaged.

Edith Lazenby

Edith (Edie) has been teaching yoga for 20 years. She has experience teaching all ages and all formats; she is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance and a registered children’s yoga teacher. Her passion is creating community and ensuring students leave feeling better than when they walk through the door. Edith always defers to the wisdom of the student’s body, with therapeutics as her specialty. Yoga is for everyone who can breathe! We don’t walk in the door strong or flexible necessarily but yoga can build both and allows the student to experience the tend and befriend [parasympathetic] nervous system so relaxation becomes more natural and is extremely healing. We let the breath lead and the body will follow.
